8:15-11:15 am Engagement with the prepared environment, where children explore the various activities on their own, with friends, or receive presentations one-on-one or in small groups from the Guide.

11:15-11:30 am A gathering time for song and storytelling themed to seasons, holidays, people and places. The children are invited to share and listen to each other. The guide also uses this time to present lessons on Grace and Courtesy.

11:30-12:00 pm Playtime and exploration in our backyard pollinator garden and playscape.

Typically children 3 to 4 1/2 yrs old participate in this program.

Extended Day Montessori

Schedule

8:15-11:15 am Engagement with the prepared environment, where children explore the various activities on their own, with friends, or receive presentations one-on-one or in small groups from the Guide.
11:15-11:30 am A gathering time for song and storytelling themed to seasons, holidays, people and places. The children are invited to share and listen to each other. The guide also uses this time to present lessons on Grace and Courtesy.
11:30 am - 12:45 pm : Older children, the five-going-on- six-year-olds, enjoy lunch in their classroom, tidy up and go outside. They meet up with their friends from the other rooms and play games of skill and imagination. The adults regularly engage the children in team or skill building games along with their free play.
12:45 - 2:45 pm Children spend the afternoon engaged in their work; back to an activity they began that morning or starting fresh with a new presentation. They explore topics of interest to this age group with the guide and delve more deeply into the Montessori materials. They also add to the “Daily Story,” an ongoing time line of the important or unique events of the day.

Typically children 4 1/2 to 6 years old participate in this program.

Early Arrival & Extenda Care

3 TO 6 YEARS OLD

This small program enables parents to rest assured that their child is in familiar and loving care while they are at work. Children in ExtendaCare enjoy lunch and playtime with their friends and then join together for a story, nap time and an afternoon of art activities and play in a homelike atmosphere. The children follow the same guidelines that they have learned in their Montessori classrooms, making this a seamless transition from one setting to another. As space for this program is limited, families with the greatest need are given enrollment priority for this program.
